Essays for College - Life is Hectic

I haven't posted in a while, mostly because I've been wracking my brains trying to write essays for getting into art school. I don't understand why, but I have always had a hard time writing essays for certain assignments. This 'assignment' is my own though, and I am determined finish the application process at least for the one school I want to go to the most. The Art Center in Pasadena, California. This school is one of the best art schools in the world, equivalent to Harvard or Yale but for art. Just glancing through the course catalog makes me excited about the possibility of going there.

So my essays should be done soon, then I'll have to do a last round of drawings for my portfolio and send the whole package in. If I don't get in this fall, I plan to do something drastic like move to Los Angeles or maybe I'll take up Fish's offer to live at Camp MayMac. Either way, I'll keep trying to get into the school until they accept me.

Either that or I'll be a security guard all my life. How fulfilling :)

Oh yeah, just in case, being a guard isn't tha bad at all, I do have a decent job for which I'm greatful.

well, i agree that sand castles are cool. i'm new to the whole blog thing, but i think this is the most recent post you've put up and i wanted to try and reply. as far as writing essays for college goes, they suck. luckily, i'm good at that kind of thing, so it was my saving grace for getting into the school i am currently at. however, this is ironically the only non "art school" that i applied to. granted i did not try to get in for visual arts (which is what i assume you do), but i have already been to a conservatory for voice and theater where i met and became close friends with many art students. -since your post was a month or so ago, and you probably know a helluva lot more than i do about what you're doing, you probably already know what i'm about to tell you. if you're applying to get into an arts school, whether you have to do an essay or not, its the portfolio of your work, or your audition (in my case) that is going to matter. if you blow them away with your talent, but have a crappy essay, they aren't really going to care so much about the essay. now, this can either be a consolation or a twist of the knife, considering if you get in or not. next year i plan on applying to grad schools for creative writing and, while my grades aren't extreamely competitive anyway (although i do go to a hard school), its going to be my writing samples that will make me sink or swim. anyhow, good luck with everything, and considering this is the first "comment" i've ever written, i'll try not to ramble to much next time. ...although i'm also procrastinating going to bed and studying for a midterm i have tomorrow, so maybe it's not such a normal thing. ok, i'll stop. goodnight!

Dude, I bought this documentary called Scatch, about DJ/turntabling and it's AWESOME, yes, deserving of all caps. I highly recommend you go and buy it. If not, I'm bringing it to camp and we're watching it.
I'm starting to really want to invest some money is techno/beat based music and need some in-depth recommendations. I like the whole DJ/sampling stuff like DJ Shadow, so anything you can recommend in that vein, I'm game.

And my friend Adam has decided to apply to camp. Seeing that he's a guy, what do you think his chances of getting hired are?
